Course Description
To draw well, an understanding of form is essential.
Form is the central focus of this course. It begins with
understanding and drawing primitive shapes such as cubes, cylinders,
and spheres. You’ll develop a palette of simple forms that you will
recognize in everything around you.
Organic, geometric, symmetric,
harmonic and dynamics—an endless variety of form languages. Using
examples from nature, design, and architecture, we translate the
world around us into simple shapes.
You’ll learn how to manipulate
these forms through construction, hatching and the use of light and
dark. These are the basic tools of our toolkit, allowing us to Sculpt
on paper. We draw from observation and imagination. What will emerge
from your creativity?
